Men of Realife Church...Real Men for Realife
Priest, Protector, Provider.
We believe every man has a calling and a purpose as a father, husband, or son. This Biblical role for men is displayed in three different characteristics in scripture for his home, his church and his community.
#1 The man is to be the Priest of his home. (“He has made us a Kingdom of priests for God his Father.” Revelation 1:6 NLT) This means the spiritual leader. He is the one who “goes first” as he follows Jesus his family follows him.
#2 He is to be the main Provider in his home. This doesn’t mean that the wife/mother cannot work outside of the household, but the man should be the lead provider. (“If anyone fails to provide for his own, and especially for those of his own family, he has denied the faith [by disregarding its precepts] and is worse than an unbeliever [who fulfills his obligation in these matters].”
1 Timothy 5:8 AMP)
#3 We believe the husband/father is to be the Protector of his family and home (“For when a strong man is fully armed and guards his home, his possessions are safe—”Luke 11:21 NLT)
The statistic below gives us insight into the significant role a father plays in his families, journey to faith in Jesus Christ.
If the mother is the first to become a Christian, there is a 17% probability everyone else in the household will follow. However, when the father is first, there is a 93% probability everyone else in the household will follow.*
This statistic reflects the truth of scripture. In this passage from the book of Acts we see the value of a father, believing in God. And how simply believing and acting on that belief benefits, everyone in the home.
“Believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved, along with everyone in your household.” And they shared the word of the Lord with him and with all who lived in his household. He and his entire household rejoiced because they all believed in God.” Acts of the Apostles 16:31-32, 34 NLT
